ARGOT (2009)

OAOA: ARGOT
Gallery Plan B, Amsterdam

ARGOT borrowed its cues from John Cassavetes’ film "Shadows", less as a reference than as a working attitude.

Moving like a jazz session: improvised, slightly unruly, assembled from scenes that feel discovered rather than scripted. Taking this as a loose instruction, OAOA brought together three artists in a format that behaved more like a rehearsal than a finished composition.
Works slipped into proximity, drifted apart and occasionally formed brief alliances. The exhibition was held together less by a curatorial argument than by the logic of improvisation.
