Mini Expo (2024)
Scenography for the exhibition developed with and for children from the AZC Katwijk, at Page Not Found, The Hague.
In collaboration with Stichting De Vrolijkheid and Page Not Found, OAOA developed a series of creative workshops for children at the asylum seeker centre in Katwijk. Inspired by child-led learning and artistic publishing practices, the sessions introduced young participants to artists’ books and DIY graphic techniques.
In late summer 2024, the building hosting the workshops was scheduled for urgent relocation to a much smaller space, putting many of the children’s artworks—particularly large-scale pieces—at risk of being discarded.
In response, OAOA proposed a temporary exhibition to carefully present these works before their disappearance. The scenography offered an exhibition framework that allowed the children’s artworks to be encountered with attention and care, while also acknowledging the long-standing dedication of the educators who had nurtured these creative processes over the years.
