OAOA & SAWA Summer School 2026

OAOA, in collaboration with Stichting SAWA Collective, is organising a one-week summer school for young adults living in asylum seeker reception centres in Amsterdam.

SAWA supports the wellbeing and interests of young adult asylum seekers aged 18 and above. SAWA aims to foster a community in which young people with refugee experiences are recognised in their complexity, knowledge and voice.

During the week-long collaboration, we will explore how self-publishing can strengthen personal agency, circulate ideas and create space for both individual and collective narratives. Through printing, writing, and DIY publishing with accessible tools, participants will be invited to experiment with ways of sharing their knowledge, lived experiences and histories.
